Unflustered collects nothing. Your recordings and everything the app works out about how you spoke stay on your iPhone.

What the app stores, and where

Your audio recordings are written to the app's own container on your device. Deleting the app deletes them. They are never uploaded.

Your practice history, your settings, and the delivery measurements the app computes are stored in a database inside the same container, on your device.

What is kept from your speech, and what is not

Speech is transcribed on your device so the app can work out things like speaking pace and filler words. The transcript itself is then discarded. There is no column in the database that holds a transcript.

Short quotes survive. When the app spots a crutch word or a hedging phrase, it keeps a few words either side of it, so the review can show you the phrase in context instead of only a number. Each is capped at eight words and 120 characters, and that is the only speech text written to disk. It is less than the recording of the same answer, which is on your phone for you to play back.

What leaves your device

For practicing, recording, playback, transcription and measurement: nothing. Those work with the phone in airplane mode.

The single exception is buying the one-time unlock. That is handled by Apple's App Store, which needs a connection to load the price and complete the purchase. Apple tells the app whether you own the unlock. Apple does not tell the app who you are, and the app never sends Apple anything about your practice.

If you back up your iPhone, that backup includes your recordings, the same as any other app's data. The backup is yours and you control it in iOS Settings.

Analytics, tracking and advertising

There are none. The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising SDK and no tracking code. It has no networking code at all, and an automated check refuses to build the app if any is added. Its privacy manifest declares no collected data and no tracking.

You will not see an App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing to ask you about.

Speech recognition

Transcription runs on your device. The app explicitly requires on-device recognition on every path that could otherwise fall back to a server, and an automated check fails the build if that setting is ever weakened. Your speech is not sent to Apple for recognition, and it is not sent to us.

The interviewer's voice

The voice that reads the questions aloud is AI-generated. It was recorded ahead of time and the audio files are bundled inside the app, so it plays with no connection. It only speaks the questions. It does not hear, process or transmit your answers. This is also disclosed inside the app, in Settings.

Accounts

There are none. Nothing to sign up for, no email address to give, no password.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because nothing is collected, there is no data of yours for us to access, export, correct or delete. Everything the app holds is already on your device and under your control. Deleting the app removes all of it. Settings also has a Delete recordings action if you want to clear recordings without deleting the app.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version is posted here with a new date at the top.
